To avoid system crashes, you should run this CD-ROM without any extensions except your CD-ROM driver, QuickTime, Sound Manager 3.1, and other essential software.
This issue of IMG uses Apple QuickTime and Sound Manager 3.1, which is contained in the “Put in System Folder” folder. To install QuickTime and Sound Manager, open the “Put in System Folder” and drag the contents onto your System Folder on your hard drive. Restart your machine for changes to take effect.
The QuickTime movies on the CD-ROM have been optimized to playback on double-speed CD-ROM drives or better. With some older CD-ROM players, you may experience sound drop outs and slow QuickTime movie play. We strongly recommend you run the CD-ROM on a CD-ROM drive with a 300Kb/sec transfer rate or better.
• Better Looking QuickTime Movies
If you have 16 or 24-bit color, the QuickTime movies will look considerably better if you set your monitor to 16 or 24-bit color. However, if you choose to do this, we recommend having a Quadra or better Macintosh, and a CD-ROM drive with a 300Kb/sec transfer rate or better, and you allocate more memory (about 5 MB) to the IMG CD-ROM program.
• Other Important Notes
- Some of the shareware games and demos must be run from your hard drive. Please copy these games to your hard drive first.
- If you are in the magazine and a demo, slide show, or sound fails to start, it means you don't have enough memory to run the program. Please run the demo, shareware, or slide show from the Finder.
